Choosing an Emperor Mattress
A standard emperor mattress is 7ft wide by 6ft 6in long, a foot wider than a super king. The Henry Smeaton Platinum and Diamond pocket sprung models shown here are handmade to order in Yorkshire. Made-to-measure lengths up to 8ft are available. Compare the full construction, fillings and feel of each model rather than choosing by spring count alone.
We generally recommend a zip-link construction for an emperor mattress. The Platinum and Diamond models have substantial spring units and fillings, so their weight makes a single-piece mattress impractical in most cases. Two sections are easier to move through stairs, doorways and tight turns. Each half of a standard emperor is approximately 3ft 6in wide. We will check the model, weight and access route with you before ordering. There is no additional charge for a zip-link mattress in emperor size.
Delivery and installation are free for a mattress ordered on its own or with a bed frame. When you buy a new mattress, we can also remove and recycle your old one for an additional fee. Read about mattress recycling.
Henry Smeaton mattresses have a five-year guarantee, except the Diamond 14,000, which has a ten-year guarantee. These pocket sprung mattresses are rotate only and should not be turned over. Follow the individual model’s care instructions. You can compare the range at our showroom or call 01777 869 669 about size, feel and access. See the terms of our 21-day money-back promise.
