Oak Beds FAQ

Which Oak Bed Size is Right for You?

We have a huge range of oak bed frame sizes, ranging from our snug single beds to our gigantic Caesar.

The best size for your bed will depend on your height, how many people are sleeping in the bed, and your room.

Consider the dimensions of your room when buying a bed, the other furniture in the room and if there will still be enough space to open your wardrobe doors or chest of drawers.

Below, you’ll find details of all of our standard bed sizes.

But remember, if you need an extra long or wide bed, we offer a complete bespoke service. Just contact us to learn more.

  • Our Single oak beds are 3 feet wide and are perfect for children or small adults sleeping alone.
  • Our Double oak beds are 4 foot 6 inches wide and are ideal for couples without taking up too much floor space.
  • Our King-size beds are 5 feet wide and popular for couples wanting a little extra space.
  • Our Super king-size oak beds are 6 feet wide.
  • Our Eastern king oak beds are 6 feet 6 inches wide.
  • Our Emperor oak beds are 7 feet wide.
  • And our Caesar oak beds are 8 feet wide.

We offer a huge range of signature styles that can suit any décor.

So whether you’re looking for a chunky oak bed, rustic oak bed, or something a bit more modern – we’ll have the style for you.

Our main styles include:

  • Oak Sleigh Beds – available in 7 unique designs.
  • Oak Four Poster Beds – available in 8 eye-catching designs.
  • Oak Leather Beds – available in 8 designs that all use fine Italian leather as accent pieces.
  • Oak Traditional Beds – available in 11 designs and are perfect for those looking for chunky or rustic oak beds.
  • Oak New England Beds – available in five designs.
  • Oak Metropolitan Beds – for the ultimate modern oak bed frame.

As a standard, our oak beds come in one signature finish – natural light oak. In our experience, our clients love the natural light oak finish.

But if you’re looking for a dark, grey, or white oak finish, we can make your dream bed entirely bespoke to you.

We recommend adding a walnut finish to our natural oak for a dark oak bed design.

Meanwhile, a grey oak bed frame or white oak bed frame can be made using our all-new limed oak finish.

At Revival Beds, we specialise in oak and pine beds as we believe they deliver the best bed quality possible.

These materials are durable and characterful, making their natural finishes very appealing.

Generally, sturdy woods like oak and pine are best for beds as they are strong and durable.

As for the best choice between oak and pine, that’s up to you. Oak is a hardwood and is more expensive than pine due to its longer lifespan and greater durability.

Pine is a softwood. This doesn’t reference the sturdiness of the wood but rather the structure of the wood. Pine trees have different water-carrying systems, which gives the wood a different property to oak.

Whatever material you choose, you can feel confident knowing that it’s sturdy and will last for many years to come.

Many people consider oak to be the best material for beds. Although it’s more expensive than many alternatives, oak beds are a timeless classic and incredibly durable.

Proper care for an oak bed can help it last a lifetime. Due to this longevity, many customers consider oak bed frames a long-term investment.

Although oak beds are incredibly durable, they still need the occasional love and care to make them last as long as possible and retain their natural beauty.

For all of our oak or pine furniture, we recommend taking the following steps:

  1. Keep your bed out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources like radiators.
  2. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean your bed from dust and dirt – but don’t use silicone-based cleaning or polishing products.
  3. If you choose a natural wood finish, we recommend applying a clear beeswax every six months to clean and nourish the wood. Please note, this does not apply to our limed oak finish.

We also have extra advice for those who choose one of our oak leather beds.

To clean the leather, take a soft cloth and wring it out in a warm soap solution.

We advise using a mild soap but never detergent.

Simply wipe the leather in a gentle circular motion to avoid soaking the leather.

You can find full care details in our care guide.

Many interior designers recommend using light or neutral-coloured bedding to compliment your oak bed frames.

However, it’s entirely up to you and your personal preferences on what colour you use.

Oak is an incredibly versatile material and will suit almost all colours.

The comfort of your bed will depend on your mattress. We offer bespoke and handmade luxury mattresses in memory foam, latex and pocket springs.
