The collection ranges from 1,000 springs in the Classic 1000 to 14,000 in the Diamond 14,000. Spring counts shown on product pages refer to a king-size mattress; a higher count alone does not tell you how a mattress will feel. The Diamond 14,000 includes a lambswool pillow top, while other models offer different combinations of natural fillings, latex or memory foam.
All Henry Smeaton mattresses are handmade to order and come with a five-year guarantee, except the Diamond 14,000, which has a ten-year guarantee. Check the individual product page for its construction and care instructions. If you are considering a super king or wider size, a heavier Diamond model, or have tight access, ask us about a zip-link option before ordering. There is no additional charge for a zip-link in super king size or wider; an additional charge applies for king size and smaller.
Mattresses include free delivery and installation, even when ordered without a bed frame. All our mattresses are rotate only and should not be turned over, apart from the Next Generation Memory Foam mattress, which does not need rotating. The Next Generation Pocket Memory Foam mattress does need rotating. Follow the care guide for your model.
A pocket sprung mattress has individual springs enclosed in fabric pockets, allowing them to respond separately to movement. The overall feel also depends on the spring construction, comfort layers and firmness of the particular model.
Some Henry Smeaton mattresses use more than one layer of pocket springs, including smaller springs in additional layers. The Diamond 14,000 has 14,000 pocket springs in a king-size mattress. Compare each model’s complete construction and feel rather than choosing on spring count alone.
Pocket sprung mattresses should not be bent. If weight or access is a concern, ask us about a zip-link construction before you order.
Our weights, height and size can be vastly different from our partners yet we seem to just accept that we should sleep on the same mattress type, even though it doesn’t suit our needs. Catering to both partner’s needs, we can make a mattress with a different feel on either side that suits you – Dual Feel.
It’s quite a simple concept, two separate mattresses are put together to form one. Each mattress is entirely independent of each other, so you can pick each side to suit the needs of both partners. So, if one partner is of a slight build and the other partner is of a heavy build, both can have their ideal mattress.

Yes. Made-to-measure lengths up to 8ft are available across the mattress range. Tell us the bed size and any access restrictions so we can advise whether a one-piece or zip-link mattress is more suitable.
