An eastern king mattress is 6ft 6in wide by 6ft 6in long: six inches wider than a super king and six inches narrower than an emperor. The Henry Smeaton Platinum and Diamond pocket sprung models shown here are handmade to order in Yorkshire. Made-to-measure lengths up to 8ft are available.
We generally recommend a zip-link construction for an eastern king mattress. The Platinum and Diamond models have substantial spring units and fillings, so their weight makes a single-piece mattress impractical in most cases. Two sections are easier to move through stairs, doorways and tight turns, then zip together on the bed. We will check the model, weight and access route with you before ordering. There is no additional charge for a zip-link in eastern king size.
Delivery and installation are free for a mattress ordered on its own or with a bed frame. We can also remove and recycle an old mattress when you buy a new one for an additional fee. Read about mattress recycling.
Henry Smeaton mattresses have a five-year guarantee, except the Diamond 14,000, which has a ten-year guarantee. These pocket sprung mattresses are rotate only and should not be turned over. A standard eastern king mattress is 6ft 6in wide by 6ft 6in long. It sits between a 6ft-wide super king and a 7ft-wide emperor. We can make an eastern king mattress up to 8ft long to order. Ask about made-to-measure mattresses if you need a different length.
Eastern king gives two sleepers more width than a super king without the full 7ft width of an emperor. Check the room and the bed frame’s outside dimensions as well as the mattress size. Our Platinum and Diamond models can be heavy, so tell us about stairs, turns and doorways. We can discuss a zip-link construction, which has no additional charge at this size.
Measure the available space around the bed for furniture and walking routes, then check the outside dimensions of your chosen frame. The mattress sits within the frame, so the frame footprint is larger. Consider whether you need underbed storage and tell us about access to the bedroom.
