Henry Smeaton mattresses are made in Yorkshire and sold by Revival Beds. The collection includes traditional pocket sprung models alongside mattresses with latex or memory foam layers. The right choice depends on the feel you prefer, the size you need and how the whole mattress works with your bed base. Here is a practical introduction to the current Henry Smeaton range.
Classic pocket sprung mattresses
The Classic 1000, 1500 and 2000 are pocket sprung options with different specifications and feels. Individually pocketed springs can respond to movement separately; the spring count alone does not tell you whether a mattress will feel softer or firmer. Compare the upholstery, stated feel and full construction, then try the models you are considering.

Platinum and Diamond
The current Platinum range includes the 3700 and 5700. The Diamond collection has three models: Diamond 7000, Diamond 11000 and Diamond 14000. Each uses pocket springs, but the upholstery and finish differ. Compare the complete construction and feel rather than treating the number in a model name as a simple ranking.

The Diamond 7000 combines pocket springs with latex and layers including wool, silk, cashmere, mohair and cotton. It is offered in medium and firm feels. The Diamond 11000 combines different pocket spring units with latex and similar natural fillings, and is listed in a medium feel. The Diamond 14000 has a deeper pillow-top design, wool and other natural fillings with Talalay latex, and is listed in a medium feel. Check the individual product specifications when choosing: the models differ in depth and construction as well as spring count.
If you need an unusually wide or long mattress, or are considering a zip-link pair to make handling and bedroom access easier, talk through the size, weight and delivery route with us. The best arrangement depends on the model and your home. You can book a showroom visit to compare the mattresses in person.

Latex and gel-infused latex
The Classic Latex 1500 and 2000 add a latex layer to a pocket sprung construction. The current Cool Latex Gel 1200 and 2000 use a gel-infused latex layer. These are different models from the older gel-foam story and should not be described interchangeably. If temperature comfort matters to you, compare the complete mattress and bedding in person; a gel layer alone does not guarantee cooler sleep.

Memory foam options
The Next Generation Memory Foam and Next Generation Pocket Memory mattresses offer different constructions. Pocket Memory combines pocket springs with a memory foam layer, while the Memory Foam model uses a foam construction. If you like a contouring feel, compare both with the pocket sprung and latex alternatives. Read our guide to mattress types for a fuller explanation of the materials.

Size, fit and choosing a feel
Measure the mattress space inside your bed frame and check the dimensions for the model you want. Every Revival Beds mattress is handmade to order. We can discuss larger or made-to-measure sizes and king-size zip-link options to suit your bed. If two people prefer a different feel, ask whether a zip-link configuration is suitable for that size and mattress.
Try several feels rather than choosing from a spring number or a universal rule about sleeping position. If you have a specific medical or allergy concern, discuss it with an appropriate professional and check the exact materials of the model you are considering.
