A standard Caesar mattress is 8ft wide by 6ft 6in long, offering generous space for two sleepers. The Henry Smeaton Diamond and Platinum models shown here are handmade to order in Yorkshire, with different constructions and feels to compare. The Diamond 14,000 includes a lambswool pillow top and is also available in Caesar size.
We generally recommend a zip-link construction for a Caesar mattress. The Platinum and Diamond models have substantial spring units and fillings, so their weight makes a single-piece 8ft mattress impractical in most cases. Two sections are easier to carry through stairs and tight turns, then zip together on the bed. There is no additional charge for a Caesar zip-link mattress. We will check the model, weight and route to your room before ordering; different feels on each side may be possible.
Made-to-measure lengths up to 8ft are available. Delivery and installation are free for mattresses, whether ordered on their own or with a bed frame. When you buy a new mattress, we can also remove and recycle your old one for an additional fee. Read about mattress recycling.

A standard Caesar mattress is 8ft wide and 6ft 6in long. The overall footprint of a Caesar bed frame will be larger than the mattress because the frame surrounds it. Check the bed frame measurements and the available space in your room before ordering.

The weight depends on the model, size and construction. A Caesar Diamond 14,000 has many spring layers and will be particularly substantial. Ask us for the details of the model you are considering and tell us about stairs or other access constraints.
All our mattresses are rotate only and should not be turned over, except the Next Generation Memory Foam mattress, which does not need rotating. Pocket sprung mattresses should not be bent. A zip-link divides an extra-wide mattress into two sections, making access and rotation more manageable. Follow the care guidance for your exact model.
A standard Caesar mattress is 6ft 6in long and 8ft wide. Because our mattresses are handmade to order, we can discuss a shorter or made-to-measure longer length, up to 8ft, to fit your bed and room.
