The Little Mackintosh
Just because space is tight it doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to one of our most popular designs: the Mackintosh bed. Inspired by the famous Arts & Crafts Scottish designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the difference between this bed and our Tall Mackintosh is the height. We've made the head and footboard a little lower making this elegant bed perfect for smaller bedrooms or guest bedrooms.
A bed that's almost architectural in its design
One thing our customers always comment on is the sheer attention to detail that goes into our beds. Like the Tall Mackintosh, the Little Mackintosh bed boasts handmade ceramic tiles which decorate its head and footboard - a feature that really has to be seen to be appreciated.
Did you know, for example, that each tile has been individually hand fettled before it's glazed and fired, then placed in position by our skilled craftsmen? Or that the craftsmen we use are the same people famous for their architectural restoration work at the Harrogate Turkish Baths and the London Underground?
A stunning smaller 'Arts & Crafts' style bed
Like its 'big brother', the Little Mackintosh bed is inspired by the Arts & Crafts designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This hand-made bed is a wonderful work of art overflowing with fine detailing.
Notice, for example, the subtle geometric pattern detailing on the central bed splat on either side of the ceramic tiles. And don't miss the geometric iron handles on the matching dressing table and drawers; even the mirror features smaller drawers to each side - ideal for trinkets.
Being a smaller bed, the Little Mackintosh is perfect for guest rooms or smaller spaces. The matching seven drawer chest is also especially useful for when floor space is tight. But if you'd like something a little bigger, the Little Mackintosh bed can be made into a bigger king size - and six and seven foot lengths.
