There's something about Arts & Crafts inspired furniture that never goes out of fashion. In fact it's one of the most enduring and beautiful of all British design styles.
At Revival Beds, we have two different Arts and Crafts inspired furniture ranges. One is our Mackintosh range and the other is this, our elegant Liberty range of bedroom furniture.
It’s what’s behind our bedroom furniture that counts
Just like the original Arts & Crafts artisans, our craftsmen and women take great pride in the work they do. In the 19th century, Arts & Crafts was all about reacting against the mass production brought on by the industrial revolution. In the 21st century at Revival Beds, it's also about refusing to give in to modern 'shortcuts' like flat-packs, chipboard and MDF. Or shoddy imports and rain forest timber.
With the Liberty range of bedroom furniture you know you're getting good old fashioned, honest use of materials. Look closely and you can see the sheer amount of work that's gone into each piece of furniture. Such as the 'blackwork' lines – our interpretation of the ebony stringing often used by skilled cabinet makers to decorate furniture.
Also notice how the hand-waxed pale oak wax finish balances with darker the blackwork. Also notice the wrought iron handles which are light years away from the cheap-looking mass produced imports you find in DIY stores. And of course all this careful detailing is echoed in the Liberty beds themselves.
Tailor-made storage that makes clever use of space
The Liberty collection is so true to traditional principles, you can almost smell the wood shavings. And as the teams at Revival Beds will tell you, if you make something beautiful you're much more likely to enjoy creating it. Our craftsmen and women are passionate about our Liberty range – and it shows.
This attention to detail continues inside the furniture, too. Open the doors of our two door wardrobe, for example, and you'll find a clever storage system carefully designed to take care of all your needs.
Our wardrobes don't just include hanging space (although they can, if you wish), they can also include roomy internal drawers and shelving. So it's like having a chest of drawers and wardrobe in one – the perfect solution for when space is tight.
On the subject of chests of drawers, we manufacture a complete range – from substantial seven drawer long chests through to 2 over 4 drawer dressing chests (pictured here) right down to three drawer bedside cabinets.
You can also ask for a mirror assembly to be fitted to any of our drawers – the one pictured here includes little side drawers for jewellery and other knickknacks.
