Hidden in the headboard post d is a handmade secret drawer measuring around 4 inches square by about eight inches. It's a safe hiding place for valuables, jewellery or credit cards. It gives new meaning to the phrase 'tucked up safe in bed'.

The picture shows this large bed polished with Mellow Brown wax finish. This gives a nice fresh look especially when the bed is dressed in plain light tones. When the bed is finished in Oldwood wax it has the look of an antique wooden bed.

Large beds like the Mackintosh and the Ambassador are amongst the biggest handmade beds that we currently make. It has a solid paneled headboard, and a footboard that sits at around 29 inches so you can sit on the end of your bed comfortably.

Libby's Tips: Large beds by there nature take up a lot of room in a bedroom. This is especially important if they are a divan surround (FAQ’s) or a water bed. The actual size of each Revival bed can be found in the specification chart in the brochure. A large bed like the Ambassador is bigger than its stated mattress size. It’s for this reason that we recommend all customers carefully measure where there large bed is to be sited – especially if the large bed is going in an alcove or an area where the size is critical
